Bob Roberts is a Senior Software Engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience, currently living in Madison, Wisconsin. Specializing in building web applications using Ruby on Rails, he has worked in-house as well as remotely on projects for start-ups, companies and leading brands. Bob has served as a valuable member of project teams spanning from small to large groups, often contributing as an effective leader through management positions. Having done freelance work for several start-ups, he is experienced in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle from early planning to implementation. These extensive positions have allowed for the development of his ‘soft’ skills, including a deep-rooted understanding of the business value for features and the ability to interpret client demands to successfully deliver a product which exceeds their expectations. In addition, these projects have contributed to Bob’s excellent communication skills when interacting with clients and stakeholders.

During his service with the U.S. Army, Bob learned the skills to be both a humble follower and a great leader. He demonstrates effective communication, engaging and convincing skills and performs exceptionally well under pressure. He is a fast learner with a “no task too small” attitude towards solving new problems.

In his spare time, he loves riding his motorcycle, spending time with his wife, daughter and grand-kitties or watching football. He also is a volunteer mentor for OperationCode which is a non-profit charity that helps veterans and their families learn programming, and has managed several programming language meet-ups.
